THE ART OF CANNIZZARO
At the age of five, Fabio Cannizzaro already drew attention for his charismatic stage presence. Even then it was clear that music and art would determine his life.

Already at the age of 11, he completed training as a DJ at the Associazione Nazionale Disc-Jockey, Italia, and earned a reputation among insiders. Under the stage name Silk & Steel, his mixed tapes were also played in Italy and Spain.

When he turned 16, the autodidactic multi-instrumentalist began writing songs in the band Contrast Family. For 20 years, the band toured the greatest and most renowned stages and open air festivals with a dazzling and fascinating show. It performed as the special guest of Tower of Power, Marla Glen, Mother's Finest, Candy Dulfer, and Maceo Parker, and it even made it to the Hallenstadion Zurich and the Patinoire de Malley in Lausanne as the very special guest of Joe Cocker and other stars such as James Brown.

Fabio Cannizzaro is a singer, composer, arranger, and producer.

Raised in an artists' family where everyone made music, drew, photographed, painted, tailored, and designed, he got to know creative work at an early age. Epic Chinese films such as Hero inspired him – especially their imagery and scenography. By making films and photography, he schooled his eye and developed his own style. A major concern in his works continues to be the use of light sources so that certain details are emphasized without revealing too much. Mysticism and the interplay of shadows are crucial to his work. He uses Chinese ink and pencil to realize his impressive images.
